Welcome to the 2018 site

UX in the City: Manchester was a hands-on event for the User Experience community, organised by the team behind UX Cambridge and UX Scotland.

After a successful first year, this practical event returned in 2018! Participants joined us for the opportunity to connect and learn from peers and leaders in the industry.

They left with new ideas and skills to improve user experiences, an increased professional network, and memories of many useful conversations.

Keynotes

Our keynote speakers for 2018 were: Sarah Richards, Molly Watt, Fiz Yazdi and Chris Atherton.

Sarah Richards

Content strategist and trainer, Content Design London

Sarah brought content design as a discipline to the GOV.UK website and is the author of Content Design, a book for anyone interested in creating user-centered content.

Molly Watt

Accessibility Consultant, Director at Molly Watt LTD

Once written off by society, today Molly is a tech/web, accessibility and usability consultant, a motivational speaker, author, illustrator, blogger, international ambassador and advocate.

Fiz Yazdi

Managing Director, cxpartners

Fiz is an enthusiastic design leader. She’s been consulting since the year 2000, tooling-up people, teams and organisations for success.

Chris Atherton

Interaction Design Consultant, Netlife

Originally an academic psychologist, Chris explores attention management, and how to design information so it's understood and remembered. She’s worked on GOV.UK services and has nerded out on ontology for the BBC.

Had 2 great days at #uxcityMCR. Ended up with a list of new books to read and plenty of cool UXers to follow!
